    A lesser known and rather uneven Giallo, "The Perfume Of The Lady In Black" is fairly atypical of the genre. It has less of a mystery feel to it and is more a riff on "Rosemary's Baby", documenting its female lead's psychological breakdown. Mimsy Farmer really shines in the lead, clearly relishing the role, though the rest of the cast are basically passengers.

Part of the problem is that the script does not create enough character moments to really make you care about any of the characters, so instead it ends up feeling like a slow moving costume drama that seems more intent on accurately dressing Kidman, Dunst et al in accurate period wear and accents rather than building…

    I like that they let Kong be the hero of the piece and that they brought it in at well-under two hours, but truth be told, I was a bit underwhelmed by this. Sorta entertaining, but wears out its welcome. Too many supporting cast members to really feel like there was anyone to really hold on to. Why was Tom Hiddleston in this anyways?
