"There's two types of people in the universe - those who dance and those who do not."
I'm going to start assuming that every Marvel sequel deemed underwhelming by fanboys, who are simply expecting quick quips and references to upcoming films, should actually be pretty fantastic. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 takes a big risk by sparing jokes and intergalactic space battles for a genuinely compelling and thoughtful story about fathers, sons, and the families that we choose in our lifetime. This is absolutely the most sincere, thoughtful, and subtle film that the MCU has made to date; as well as the weirdest and most ambitious. I loved every minute of this and was so unexpectedly moved by it. One of the best of its kind.
