BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths

BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths ★★★★

gloriously transcends from one incredible, dream-like set piece to the next with immaculate cinematography and production design. but what I was most impressed by was how much time it paves out for sincerity and catharsis for the existentialism. it’s an insane ride until it fully tilts into sincerity and pure emotion and I… loved it. This is Iñárritu at his most vulnerable and outwardly emotional and it pays off so much.

obviously there’s a lot going on here about identity and country that’s above my pay grade, but I feel like this will be reevaluated like a motherfucker in a few years - if not sooner.
