Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once ★★½

Apt name cause this was loud and quirky and more than a bit annoying. Two plus hours of pleased with itself multiverse rule babbling and that stupid trope of getting dropped in and out of misunderstandings in conversation and rofl epic bagel humour to get to some grand emotional platitudes that feel unrelated to most of what's on screen during an exhausting runtime. Amidst the noise there's fun absurdist Kung Fu sequences or the odd decent gag but the postmodernist sentimentality cranked up at all times without letting anything land is tiresome and at some point these kids vomiting rainbows at a birthday party need to be told to sit down, not that they've achieved some transcendental profundity.
