I love that the overarching message of all of these movies is film people are the fucking worst.

babadook supremacy. it's a 5 star movie for me and I am always trashed for that opinion so when I tell you when that was mentioned !!!!!! it was my favorite horror movie all through high school then was swapped with Scream (1996) which is kind of hysterical.

maybe the first quality january horror release in recent memory...potentially best of the sequels. regardless, even if i lower my current score, i'm excited to return to this.

  • Daisies

something i look out for when I watch movies based off of friendship is a plot not relient on a large falling out to come back together. Daisies accomplished this and went above. women-centric codependency enmeshed in their very being.

reminds me so much of me and my best friend. i miss her so much, going to go call her.

I would've loved this movie if it weren't for the fact that these ladies are minors. Despite being of age when filming, they look young on purpose, playing children under the age of 18. The first time they are referred to as kids, they are bent over naked and inspected by a man. There is frequent nudity of them, they work at a night club stripping. Even if they are being taken advantage of, even if this is a metaphor…

  • Boyhood

so little to say and engorged with misdirection, dysfunction, and so few moments of clarity you'd think it could end at any time and say the same message. in three hours, the audience watches an insatiable piece of nostalgia bait, throwing vague scenarios around for a hit like a psychic. totally unloved, unlived in, unmemorable. something so tied to growth bred faceless characters so planned to be cookie cutter, so scared to confuse the audience with actual emotional weight, they trade purpose for a trick.

  • Titanic

I used to dedicate six hours to watching this on TV every time I saw it, and I'd do it again. similarly recreating that from 4am to 7am today. for all Titanic's shortcomings, it may be the only movie I think I experience the same consistent feelings toward each time (always, somehow, overwhelming positive).

I feel like I might like this more on rewatch since I kept thinking to myself "I think I'd still commit suicide" until the last two minutes. So I was super cynical about this dude until the town helped. It just didn't feel all that believable that this guy who emotionally abused his wife and kids actually cared about his wife and kids at that point. I'm not sure greed is that easily swayed just by removing them from the…
