I don't know why this felt like such a mixed bag for me. The humor, while try hard at times, mostly worked, especially when it came to Drax. The visuals were great, really heightened and cartoony but fit in a world like this. The soundtrack is great, definitely going to be listening to it for the next few months. The acting and chemistry with all of the cast is on point, Chris Pratt actually showcasing a bit here. And I actually appreciated the emotional beats. While some of them could be developed a bit further (Gamora), the payoffs felt mostly earned by the end of the film, especially Star-Lord, Yondu, and Rocket Raccoon. But I don't know man, I felt like the villain was interesting but wasted in a weird way. They definitely tried something different but it didn't fully come together for me. Gamora still feels weirdly sidelined as a character to me, existing purely as support for Peter and to be the hot chick, and it feels odd compared to the fully fleshed male characters. But I overall had a fun time with this, not as good as the first but still a nice watch.
