AND THE OSCAR GOES TO DANIEL KALUUYA FOR THE JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH.
The academy be damned if I don't hear those exact words coming out of Laura Dern's mouth. Good grief I always think about how he master's in changing accent. On SNL and Graham Norton Show he has his proper English Accent. This is even one further notch better performance than Get Out. And do I need to say anything about Stanfield? I don't think so. Another Silent Assassin is Jesse Plemons. He nails whatever little screentime he gets in this, trust me this guy knows his assignment.
Give me one more film this year that has more powerful and potentially iconic lines than this. Talk about Dialogue Writing, uff🔥 That five minutes return monologue where he is addressing his black panther party members, enough to make you shout "I AM REVOLUTIONARY" no matter which colour, country, planet you are from. Goosties.
Absolutely loved it. Absolutely did, no reason not to. It's shot so well too. That last sequence without spoiling anything going to a close up was absolutely brilliant. Magnificent film.
