_Kubrick’s review published on Letterboxd:
Charming film, another winner from Miyazaki. His signature hand drawn style is on display. The film reminds me of My Neighbour Totoro in that there are no villains and the conflict faced by the characters is almost completely internal, mental. It is at its core a coming of age story. Kiki must learn to adapt to her new surroundings and to find what fuels her passion and, in turn, her magic powers.
Watched with the Disney English dubs with Kristen Dunst, Tress MacNeille and the late great Phil Hartman - they were very good and I recommend them for anyone potentially looking at going dubs over subs. They took great effort to line up the voice acting with the animation and it works very well.
