gripping, honest, brilliant. shaka king’s direction is marvellous, so tight and focused, feeling so purposeful in everything he does and so uncompromising and unfiltered in his vision and depiction of racism, police brutality, hate, fear and power. lakeith stanfield and daniel kalluya are so devastating and vulnerable here it’s honestly unbelievable. it’s just such an important and powerful film, and one that left me completely speechless, and one that will continue to stick with me for a while i’m sure.
