  when it's sweet, it is sweet. you know, like there's hot chocolate where my blood should be! It's a kick in the ass and an arm slung over the shoulder. It's honest and lovely--maybe just not remarkable. It plays into clichés to a point where it almost dissolves its sincerity into total saccharine. Almost.

  this movie didn’t mention half of the abuse sylvia actually endured. it tried to falsely humanize people like paula…while she was one of the main abusers. the story is very disturbing, but it deserves to be told: evil people like gertrude need to be exposed. i just wish they told it while staying close to the facts.
