Very light on the sci-fi which made it feel like a gimmicky way to juice up an otherwise average indie road trip script.
Some hard science exposition upfront could have made a big difference.
1/2 a star for Jeff goldblum. Worst movie of 2022. Literally took a snooze.
No need to see it to review it.
Just got done listening to an interview with the director on the DAILY EVOLVER podcast.
A movie that is based on the Ken Wilber book Grace and grit with director SEBASTIAN SIEGEL referencing inspiration from Terence Malik (tree of Life) and Darren Aronofsky (the fountain) means this is an A+ / 5 STAR movie.
9 hour director's cut please.
Dealing with human nature instead of punching a CGI villain at the end really works and feels true to the character. Loved it.
4.5/5.0 ⭐ movie if not for the Saturday morning cartoon vibes. It created a movie-long expectation of a comedic deus ex machina. It really killed the tension by making the world feel arbitrarily safe.
