Exactly three years ago I fell in love with Damien Chazelle’s La La Land and since that day I have never looked at film the same way again.
Odd to think about how my love for movies has skyrocketed since then. No piece of art had ever moved me like this did. I couldn’t fathom the way it impacted me and its ending just left me in a state of complete shock and awe.

Watched for the first time two years ago today. I’m gonna make it an annual tradition on July 26th.
Every shot, scene, character, line of dialogue and performance has become iconic to me and I’m happy to say with great confidence that this is my favorite movie. I would recommend it to anyone.
Watched in awe as they not only surpassed the unbelievably high bar set with the first film, but kept on pushing boundaries so damn creatively. Simply one of the most exhilarating films in years and I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes down as one of the greatest sequels ever made. Phenomenal work.
Only highlight here is the main cast. Shame they’re stuck in such an uninspired mess of a remake.
Initially had very little interest in checking this out and was planning to wait until the streaming release. When the consensus was actually quite promising, curiosity got the best of me. Firstly rewatched the 1989 original earlier today and that’s just the superior film in every way. Can’t crack why the response has been this positive… did y’all see a different version?
