It was an interesting blend of mainstream aesthetics with a touch of style. In the same vein, it’s interesting to slot this into the category of BL when the film tried to breach out of fantasy for the female gaze into a much more contextualized reality of gay men and gay men when they’re older.
The trailer was better than the movie imo. Tho I feel like it was already a big mistake to use the same song as the MASTERPIECE, the handmaids tale.
The concept was interesting but logically it didn’t try to make too much sense. I don’t think it was applying the butterfly effect theory or multi parallel worlds theory so it was kinda lazy and shallow with execution.
Emotionally I wasn’t rly moved and neither of the characters were that likable tbh. It was just ehhhhhh
Honestly it’s like a cotton candy movie. Tastes fleetingly sweet but disappears upon consumption. No substance. It’s like an attempted Black Widow movie but with weak plot and premise and the build up was such a let down. Cool to see some badass action tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
An amazing bittersweet melodrama that centers a tense and tender family dynamic with a dash of queer longing. The line about knowing people but thinking about how many of those people you truly understand hit me hard.
I thought the way this movie handled wlw love for an older woman teacher was so elegant and real. There wasn’t anything inappropriate or exploitive about the relationship between eunhee and young-ji, but the attraction eunhee had for young-ju was palpable and illustrative…
